20,000 leagues under CDMX
Reviewed 20 August 2017
As another reviewer already noted, this aquarium doesn't look like much from the outside -- in fact, with its corrugated metal siding, it looks more like a suburban storage facility back in the States. That said, it's a pretty impressive place considering it's located hours from the ocean. You start your adventure by going down several subterranean levels by elevator and then slowly working your way back up. After viewing countless tanks of tropical fish, pulsating jelly fish, and even an underwater tunnel (where you can view larger fish and sharks), you end the tour with a penguin exhibit. There's also a hands-on (please touch) area where kids can handle sea creatures while attendants give more information about the animals on view. This is a personal opinion of a KiddieMundo user.
Tips
Try to avoid lines by either going later in the day (1 pm or so) or by purchasing tickets online in advance through Ticketmaster (but that involves picking them up elsewhere and can be a pain). This is definitely a place you can repeat with the kids if you're in Mexico City for the long haul. It's located near several shopping malls with food courts. It's also across the street from two museums (Soumaya and Jumex).

Much better than it looks from outside
Reviewed 27 June 2017
This aquarium doesn't look too impressive from the outside but it's really a world class place. It offers several subterranean floors presenting sharks, jelly fish, hundreds of tropical fish species, sea turtles and an impressive exhibit of penguins. My kids especially loved the tunnel with manta rays and shark swimming right above their heads. This is a personal opinion of a KiddieMundo user.
Tips
Lines can be long when it opens so try arriving later in the day. Aquarium has special promotion (2 in 1) with the Laboratorio Submarino Blau Life, which is just across the street and presents extremely interesting hands-on exhibits about various aspects of the sea.
