Kiev Fenicular

Opened in May 1905, the Kiev Funicular (in Ukrainian: Київський фунікулер; in Russian: Киевский фуникулёр) gives an interesting way for families to explore Kiev. The Funicular connects the historic upper town and the lower neighborhood of commercial Podil.

The ride is quite short (it lasts approximately 3 minutes) but fun. While descending or riding up the steep hills, passengers have a great opportunity to explore the beautiful scenery of Kiev and also view the Dnieper River.

Children get to ride for free. There are ticket booths at both sides of the railway.

Short ride but small kids will like it

    Reviewed 26 November 2016

The ride is very short but it's cute, especially for the little kids (mine were toddlers at the time). I wouldn't make special arrangements just to do the ride, but if you are in the neighborhood on either side of the Fenicular - it's worth doing it. This is a personal opinion of a KiddieMundo user.
