National Museum of Warsaw

The National Museum in Warsaw (Polish: Muzeum Narodowe) is home to over 800,000 exhibits of Polish and international art from antiquity to contemporary times, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, illustrations, photographs, numismatic items and objects of applied arts. Visitors will find there paintings of 15th-century Dutch and Flemish artists, Botticelli, and famous Polish painters including Chełmoński, Matejko (with his largest Polish painting “Battle of Grunwald”), Witkacy, Strzemiński to name a few. There is also a large gallery of medieval art and the largest European collection of artefacts of the Nubian culture and art from the Nile River Valley. Inside the museum, there is a relaxing courtyard with benches, deckchairs, a fountain and cozy Café Lorentz.

The audio guides can be borrowed for free at the Information Office. They are available in Polish, English, French, Spanish, German, and Russian.

Museum offers free admission to permanent galleries on Tuesdays.

The Museum is located right next to the Museum of the Polish Army.
