The Toy Museum

The Toy Museum is located in downtown Brussels in a beautiful family mansion built in 1900. The museum is a play-land where children can run around and play while their parents go on a sentimental journey back in time.

The museum is home to a collection of over 25 000 toys from all over Europe, with the oldest toys dating back to 1830. Exhibits include many old mechanical toys, rocking horses, dolls, child-sized wooden play-kitchens, teddy bears, play castles, shadow puppets, a railway track set in the Belgian countryside, and a full marionette theatre room.

    Worthwhile

    Reviewed 06 November 2016

This place feels like visiting my great-grandmother's attic. The toys are old-fashioned and most are behind glass and cannot be touched, but there are toys to interact with as well. This sounds like it would be boring, but actually my kids really enjoyed exploring this place. It is three or four levels. They put on puppet shows every so often . The museum is free one day a month. We stayed longer than I expected! It is definitely a way to entertain the kids for a few hours and they will learn a little history as well! This is a personal opinion of a KiddieMundo user.
