A must-do activity with kids when visiting Mexico's Mayan Riviera

    Reviewed 11 May 2017

Xel-Ha has just about everything you want for a day of fun and water-based adventure in a mostly natural setting. The giant lagoon makes for good snorkeling and a nice introductory experience for kids. On top of that, there is rafting on the lazy river, nature hikes, smaller grottoes and ceynotes, and the swaying bridge which is fun to cross with modest waves. For those looking for a bit more excitement, there is a short ropes course over the water (we did the rope traverse and zip line into water with our kids) and - for the especially daring - a couple places to practice your cliff diving! The park isn't cheap, but worth the price if you spend the day there. Plus, meals are part of the all-inclusive price and the buffet where we ate was pretty good. Overall, everyone had a good time and we were glad to spend most of a day there. It's a bit commercial for some tastes, but most should enjoy the experience. This is a personal opinion of a KiddieMundo user.
